Collection Preview: “Cherish”

“Cherish”

February 1st, 11:11 am EST.

A delicate exploration of color, connection, and cherishing moments.

Intention

I think the best of what we do is always done out of LOVE.

Each painting in this collection was a meditation on the beauty of connection, and the big and small moments we cherish with others that add meaning to our lives. Painting them allowed me to pause and contemplate the sacred bonds that we all share.

The circles in these paintings represent this infinite circle of love.

I named each painting “Cherish” so you can contemplate who and what you hold dear in your life. So whether you are giving this to a loved one, or keeping it for yourself I hope you feel cherished and loved.

Gathering Inspiration

The colors were inspired by things that made me feel sunny and warm in contrast to the long, cold, New England winter: I used the brightest colored flowers I could find at the florist for inspiration, greens that reminded me of the first signs of spring, and the warm aqua blues of the Caribbean ocean that I long for.

Creative Process

I used wet, watery paints to create the circles, layering in other colors and specks of gold, sparkly paint that reminded me of the way the sun shimmers on the sea. I wanted that sparkle to reflect a little light into the world.

I chose to paint these small because I love to gift intimate, sentimental items and I was thinking how these would make a really lovely gift for a friend, a couple, or yourself! They look great displayed just about anywhere~in a nook, on the wall, in a grouping, or over a vase, or a bottle.
