Spring Renewal: What's Blooming

Are you enjoying the freshness of spring? I sure am! My garden is bursting to life with crocuses, grape hyacinths, and daffodils in all kinds of shades of yellow and peach. All that color is making my heart sing like the little birdies that have returned home after the long, cold winter.

I love going out to the garden every day to see what else is coming to life.

Spring brings such a beautiful invitation to stop, pause, appreciate, and wake up a bit don’t you think?

To honor spring I put together a list of my favorite ways to welcome spring that I hope you will enjoy. It's full of ideas, color, and inspiration.

What do you do to welcome this beautiful season?

IN THE STUDIO

I’ve been wanting to loosen up a bit and develop some new color palettes so I've started a daily-ish painting journal in an old book. I used to teach altered books classes and always loved how the text showed through on the painted pages so this is proving to be a good surface work on.

This journal isn't meant to be precious, in fact, it's quite messy and the pages are often unfinished, allowing for fleeting ideas, thoughts, shapes, and colors to emerge.

My intention is to show up every day to see what wants to come through me. Some pages I love and others not so much and that's okay. This page for example could be developed a bit more but I liked the colors and loose brushstrokes and wanted to remember this idea for future work.

My aim is to develop a better relationship with my intuition and make time and space for new ideas and creative PLAY.

Releasing expectations to the outcome feels refreshing.

We'll see how it goes! 🌺

Wishing you lightness and renewal as we enter this beautiful season of color!
