It's marvelous, magical May!

May brings so much goodness!

First there's Cinco de Mayo, (like I need an excuse for a little Jimmy Buffett music and a margarita, right?), then the Brimfield Antique Show, something I look forward to every year, and finally Memorial Day weekend, officially marking the kickoff to SUMMER (at least in my mind)! Our friends come down for the long weekend, we head to the beach, then top things off with our annual wine tasting party!

What could be better than margarita's, vintage treasures, and a little vino? Well, maybe a little painting, and the hundreds of daffodils popping up all over my garden. I am in awe of the beautiful shades of peach, soft yellow and oranges. Daffodils come in so many pretty colors. They are seriously making my heart sing!

Your heart and my heart are very, very old friends." ~Hafiz

Here are a few other things bringing JOY to my mind, body & spirit :

BODY: Yoga with Adriene

I have been finding that it's not always convenient to get to a yoga class at the times they are offered, and I have been wanting to develop a more consistent practice for myself. Yoga with Adriene has solved this problem for me. Her classes aren't too long and they fit easily into my schedule.

I just finished her FREE 30 days of yoga which I loved, loved, loved! Adriene made me WANT to get up every morning and greet my day with her soulful stretches. Her classes are an easy, loving thing I am happily fitting into my life.

If you are looking for a little more flexibility and an easy way to shut down the "brain chatter" and tune in with your body you will love this practice. I am looking forward to trying out some of her other offerings.

MIND: books & podcasts

I just finished,My Life on the Road by Gloria Steinem. It's the book Tina & I chose for our second book club (our first was Jon Kabit-Zinn's, Wherever You go There You Are). This book is teaching me so much about collaboration, the importance of talking circles, deep listening and travel. It makes me want to go on another adventure!

I am also finding the podcast, Morning on the Dock really inspiring. I find the interviews with so many diverse, creative people inspiring~everything from painting to knitting.

My latest favorite was with the yarn bombing artist London Kaye. Her art seriously makes me SMILE SO BIG! :) :) :)

SPIRIT: meditation

I am happy to say I just completed another one of Oprah & Deepak Chopra's 21 day meditation experiences. This dynamic duo is amazingly generous in making these meditations FREE while they are live. I have done every one of them that they have shared and bought 5 of them for my personal collection because I enjoyed them so much. I love starting my day with the simple intentions they set and a clear mind.

The theme this time around was Hope in Uncertain times.

Each meditation includes a daily message, mantra, and an online journal with questions to reflect upon.

This is the first time I did all of the journaling. Although some of the questions made me "go deep" I felt more open-minded and compassionate after having done them.

They gave me so much to think about in terms of HOPE, and allowed me time to pause and think about all the relationships in my life and how I can make them even stronger.

*NEW PAINTINGS*

I have been working on some new small works on paper (5" x 7"). Many of them have colorful backgrounds with contour line drawings on top of them.

The two paintings above are of "flower friends". I painted them as a reminder to lean in and listen more closely to those I care about.

The paintings will be added to the shop over the next two weeks. You can check in on instagram and Facebook for the latest updates.

Each original work of art will come matted, signed and packaged with SO MUCH LOVE!
