“Being different gives the world color.” ~Nelsan Ellis⁣

⁣🌸⁣ A little reminder of how unique and special you are. Wishing you the most deLIGHTful week! ⁣ ⁣🌞⁣

p.s. Did I mention that I’m going to the COLOR 🎨FACTORY in NYC this week! Have you ever been? I can’t believe places like this exist! Pinch me! I will be sharing some pics in my insta stories so stay tuned!⁣ 🎨

Artist Date

TERRIFIC TUESDAY : March 26, 2019

I have some delightful art lessons today and then I will be pack a lackin’ for my NYC trip. Whoo hoo! @tinahirsig & I have planned the most EPIC 4 day “artist date”. I honestly can’t remember when I have been more excited to see some art! (and of course my good friend!)⁣ ⁣🎨⁣

I think it’s so important to get out of the studio and immerse yourself in another world sometimes. This is where inspiration comes from. The city🏙️ has such a vibrant energy, very different than the vibes here on the shoreline. I want it all~the art, the shows, the company, the yummy food, and maybe a nice cocktail or two. 😉⁣ 🍷⁣

Artist dates don’t have to be big trips. They can be as simple as going to a coffee shop with your journal or visiting a park to spend some time in nature~really, anything that gets you out of your normal routine. Taking this time for yourself has the ability to awaken and renew your senses, fill you with inspiration and make you feel a little more ALIVE to life. ⁣Isn’t that what we all want, that feeling of aliveness? ⁣ 🎨⁣

Have you ever taken yourself on an “artist date”? If so, where did you go? If not, where would you like to go?Start writing or type / to choose a block

Hilma af Klint

WISDOM WEDNESDAY : March 27, 2019

I’m heading to NYC today! Yipppeee! @tinahirsig and I have THE MOST INCREDIBLE line up of art we plan to see! I’m SO psyched! 🖌️⁣ 🌺⁣

One of the artists whose work I’m truly looking forward to seeing is @HilmaafKlint. If you are unfamiliar with her work I encourage you to look her up. She created strikingly original paintings just after the turn of the 20th century and has long been under recognized for her innovative art.⁣ 🌺⁣

I’m most excited to see her large, colorful abstract paintings. She began creating them in 1906 when little abstract painting had been seen before.⁣ I find it mysterious how she rarely exhibited them. She was convinced the world was not yet ready to understand her work and stipulated that it not be shown for twenty years following her death! She considered them paintings for the future. How cool and innovative is that? ⁣ 🌺⁣

Ultimately, her work was all but unseen until 1986, and only over the subsequent three decades have her paintings and works on paper begun to receive serious attention.⁣ 🌺⁣

I can’t wait to see them in person! 😊 Are you familiar with her work?⁣

Make Someone Smile

If you look real close you can see where I drew the words, “make someone smile” into this painting. ⁣ 😊⁣

Everyday we have beautiful opportunity to make someone’s day brighter. When we share our thoughts, our ideas, our time, or our unique perspective with others in a kind, loving way we put a little more joy in the world. The world needs more JOY! In return we can’t help but be lifted up in the process. It’s a lovely exchange. ⁣ ⁣⁣💞⁣

Today, I invite you to take a moment to consider the simple act of SMILING SO BIG at everyone you see.😁😁😁 Try it! Make it so big and infectious that even the grumpiest person in the room will wonder why you’re so happy. 💕

I guarantee you will delight people wherever you go and feel a little glow inside returned to you. You are SO loved and appreciated! xo⁣ ⁣🖌️⁣

“Make Someone Smile” is now available in the shop.

FABULOSO FRIDAY: March 29, 2019

“Twenty years from now you will be more disappointed by the things you didn’t do than by the ones you did do. ⁣ So throw off the bow lines. ⁣ Sail away from the safe harbor. ⁣ Catch the trade winds in your sails. ⁣

Explore. ⁣

Dream. ⁣

Discover.” ⁣

~Mark Twain⁣ 🌺⁣

What adventures do you have planned? Hope you have the most amazing weekend!⁣
