Weekly Inspiration & Joy: friendship, new art show & “arting” at the museum

I LOVE sharing  weekly inspiration over on over on Instagram – next to my blog it’s my favorite online home! You will find lots of color, gorgeous flowers, quotes, affirmations and a peek into my creative process.

Here’s a recap from the week.

For those of you who aren’t on Instagram I invite you to  come over and join me! 🙂

MINDFUL MONDAY : April 1, 2019

⁣“Your sacred space is where you can find yourself over and over.”

~Joseph Campbell⁣

⁣I feel like you can find the “sacred space” that Joseph Campbell talks about in many different ways. Deep, true friendships are one of the ways I “find myself.” ⁣

⁣Spending time with Tina Hirsig in NYC this past week was one of those beautiful gifts. Not only did we see some amazing art (*see my insta stories under “arting”), we had many soulful conversations. Tina has a beautiful way of listening so deeply that I “hear” myself (if that makes any sense?). I know when things feel right on track with my life and where I need to do a little more investigating just by “talking it out” with her. This is how we grow, right? By learning new things, questioning our beliefs and, gaining new insights. ⁣

⁣This is the beautiful gift of friendship and something I cherish from the bottom of my heart. What friends add meaning to your life and help you grow? Tag them below and let them know how much their friendship enriches your life. ⁣

⁣May you have the most beautiful week! xo⁣

WISDOM WEDNESDAY : March 6, 2019

I spent the day packing up my most vibrant, cheerful paintings to bring to the Hospital for Special Care in New Britain, CT tomorrow. I was asked to have my art exhibited in their beautiful Hospital and I could not feel more honored. ⁣ 🌺⁣

The hospital does amazing things to care for their patients in a holistic way, which totally aligns with my values. It’s wonderful to see how much they do to make art a part of their patients healing. Art does SO much to foster the well-being of each and every one of us and I’m grateful to be able to share my work in this way. ⁣ 🌺⁣

The paintings will be on view from April 4th-June 13th.⁣ If you stop in be sure to let me know! 🙂 ⁣ 🌺⁣

This painting is called, “Among Friends.” It’s painted on a deep wood panel and measures 18 x 18 inches. It can can be purchased through the hospital where 25% of the sales of all the paintings will go directly to the hospital’s “Joy of Art” Program. ⁣

I feel like the past few weeks have been a beautiful adventure and break from my usual routine and it’s been awesome. I’ve had the pleasure of seeing SO much great art which has been informing the new work I want to create. I plan on taking time to process it all over the next few weeks and see where it takes me. ⁣ 🌺

Yesterday I had the pleasure of sharing my paintings with the Hospital for Special Care. They are hosting my work as part of their #JoyofArt Program (*see todays stories for a preview). I loved seeing all my paintings in their beautiful space. Grateful…⁣ 🌺

⁣ While I was in New Britain I had the pleasure of meeting up with my good friend @jujutaddeo. She happens to be a docent at the New Britain Museum of American Art and gave me the most spectacular private tour. Even though I have several degrees in art there is ALWAYS so much to learn. She filled me up with all kinds of new knowledge and it was fun learning which paintings were her favorites and why.⁣ 🌺

When was the last time you saw some art that moved you? Tag your favorite artists and let them know how much you value what they do. Trust me, it will mean a lot to them.⁣ 🌺⁣

Hope you have the most lovely day! Happy Friday!⁣ ⁣ 🌺⁣

*This cute little original painting is called, “Stars on the Water.” ⁣ The sailboats are a little reminder to seek exploration and to be open to the thrill of the unknown. It’s available in the shop
