I have never been a ruthless decision-maker but greatly admire those who are. You know, the friend who doesn't flinch when saying no to a dinner invitation with someone who drains her. She is totally in tune with herself, knows what matters most, and more importantly how she will feel after making this decision. There will be no hangover from coming home and drinking a bottle of red wine through a straw because she is so frustrated with herself for saying yes in the first place. Yes, this is a bit dramatic and we all have to do things we don't want to, but...

We only have one go around this life and getting crystal clear on what matters most to you can guide your decisions and lead you to a more fulfilling life.
For a long time I never slowed down long enough to check in with my values and consider whether I was living them or not.
Now that I am clear on them, decision making is getting much easier. Jess Lively is a role model for someone who is living her values. I immediately fell in love with her awhile back when I discovered her blog and then later her podcasts.
I often listen to podcasts in the studio while painting. Jess's podcasts remind me of an old friend who "gets me". I feel like we are on a similar path of self-discovery and appreciate the insights and "ah ha" moments we have shared from reading many of the same books.

I appreciate how Jess follows her curiosity like an artist. She trusts her intuition, asks ethical questions both of herself and the guests she interviews who reflect her interests. My favorite topics of hers are wellness, relationships, career, simplifying your life and design.
